This web site serves two purposes. It is an advert for my specialist knowledge in tree seeds (see below) plus a brief introduction to some fascinating tree seed facts.
Peter Gosling is an international consultant and provider of training courses on tree seed science and technology. He has 30 years experience as a scientist, lecturer, author, postdoctoral and postgraduate supervisor with the British Forestry Commission Research Agency.
He has published and advised on the seeds of a wide range of temperate, Mediterranean, sub-tropical and tropical tree species - mostly on collection, processing, storage, pre-treatment, laboratory testing and improving nursery performance. He has also provided advice on direct seeding, natural regeneration, ex situ conservation and seed ecology. More recently his expertise has been sought on the potential effects of climate change on the selection of species and seed source for future trees, woodlands and commercial forests.
